The Cambridge English: Preliminary examination or the Preliminary English Test (PET) qualification is an international examination sanctioning that the candidate have mastered the basics of English language and now have practical language skills for everyday use. PET Exam is designed by Cambridge to test Intermediate candidates’ ability to perform language tasks and to prove that students can communicate effectively at an Intermediate level of English.

During the specialised lessons, you will be given the practice you need to pass the Cambridge Preliminary English Test (PET). PET is a very communicative examination and a good learning experience.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
This exam is designed similar to those required for successful performance in real life situations; consists of 3 papers: Reading and Writing, Listening and an oral examination. You will complete regular progress tests and practice exams in class with your teacher.
The Cambridge PET consists of three examinations as follows: Reading and Writing: 1 hour 30 minutes. Candidates need to be able to understand the main points from signs, newspapers and magazines and use vocabulary and structure correctly.
Listening: 30 minutes (approximately). Candidates need to show they can follow and understand a range of spoken materials including announcements and discussions about everyday life.
Speaking: 10–12 minutes. Candidates take the Speaking test with another candidate or in a group of three, and are tested on their ability to take part in different types of interaction: with the examiner, with the other candidate and by themselves.
